R&R Partners, a Scottsdale public relations agency and member of the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce, is a recipient of one of the communications industries most coveted national awards – an Effie. The awards gala will be held in New York on May 23 and will honor R&R Partners for its innovative “Notes” campaign for client, Valley Metro Regional Public Transportation Authority.
The Effie Awards, which recognizes the most effective advertising and marketing efforts in the United States each year, is highly sought after and symbolizes one of the most significant achievements in the industry – great ideas with measurable results. Previous winners in the transportation category include: Southwest Airlines and JetBlue.
R&R Partners conceived the low-cost, multi-year campaign to help Maricopa County commuters and residents make the leap from their cars to buses. The campaign features music from five local Phoenix bands that wrote and recorded eight original songs about how to use public transportation. Original animations were then designed around the music and lyrics and Valley Metro “Notes” was born –all eight videos are online at www.ValleyMetro.org/notes.
This winning campaign increased ridership, has won over 25 industry and creative awards and given the community what they were asking for- a better understanding of how to use public transportation.
